Rebels With a Cause
The Rebels coaching staff not only wants to teach our players how to excel on the field, but just as importantly, help them build character and excel off the field.
Our philosophy is that the role of a coach is to be a teacher and to help develop our players as people, as athletes, as competitors, and as citizens. One of the ways we help players grow as individuals is through community projects and volunteerism.
Volunteerism promotes positive citizenship among our players by encouraging them to be more engaged in their own communities. Youth who volunteer feel more connected to their community, are more likely to show concern, and to stay in or return to their communities. While volunteerism is focused on helping others, perhaps the biggest benefits to volunteering are reaped by the volunteers themselves. Volunteerism contributes to identity development, increased self-esteem, development of empathy for others, and the development of friendships.
